Podcasting at Work = AWESOME.
This post isn't about design. Sorry I'm not sorry.
I haven't had this site for long, but MAN there are some great things to do on the internet. I'll tell you everything I've learned in the coming posts, but the interesting thing is how I stumbled on them. Searching through Google? Twitter? Facebook? Nay.
All of it has been learned about through listening to podcasts. At work. And because I have absolutely NO experience doing what I'm about to do, you're going to see my progress first-hand so that you can learn from my (hopefully few and far between) mistakes. Anyway, onto the topic at hand: what podcasts do I listen to?
Stuff You Should Know
For casual listening/learning, I am a hardcore Stuff You Should Know fan. You can check them out here. They are two hilarious and interesting guys that are writers for the wonderful howstuffworks.com, and they just talk about random things you didn't even realize you don't know anything about. Check em out!
Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn
This one is almost entirely made up of interviews with amazing entrepreneurs. I have to sip this podcast like a fine wine, because every episode I've heard is so profound and thought provoking that I have to take like a couple weeks just to deal with the awesomeness. REALLY great guests and passive income ideas. I recommend checking out Episodes 15, 16, and 17 to get you started. Mind blowing stuff for an entrepreneur that wants to understand how money is made on the interwebs.
Starting from Nothing
Yet another guest-interview podcast for entrepreneurs... this time run by Andy Drish, the cofounder of The Foundation - a school for entrepreneurs. I'm not as much of a fan of The Foundation as I once was (which I'll have to explain in another post), but they definitely have some great knowledge and tips that have helped me think. Great guests, too.
UPDATED: Entrepreneur on Fire
Just started listening to this one. He finds some insanely accomplished people and just asks them great questions. I truly feel like he is serving me as a listener. I've learned from his podcast about how to really focus on giving what you know, and the world will respond as evidenced by all the very impressive guests he has that have become successful through giving.
And that's it! If you haven't started listening to podcasts, these are a great few to get you started. If you have any additional ones that you think are valuable, post em up in the comments!
