It was a 5 speed, my dad got a new canvas top for it, and the small hole in the exhaust made it burble and pop when you came off the throttle for added racecar feel. He wanted a wagon and I wanted a stick. After a lot of searching this wonderful car wound up in our driveway. My dad has restored and drives this car every day. It had a lot of bells and whistles, and none of them worked except the heated seats and all wheel drive. RWD, a nice 5 speed tranny, and a freight-train of an inline six. Simple, reliable, and wonderful to drive. But, with a college kid's salary I was pretty afraid of anything going wrong. That definitely took the fun out of things. This was a fantastic car. I beat the snot out of it and it never quit. It got me across the country except for a broken shifter linkage in front of our nation's capital, and then started having ridiculous amounts of problems.
